Possible loss of Village Post Office

posted 7 Jun 2013, 12:14 by Brian Dukes

Owing to  lack of support, the Post Office is considering reducing the hours the village Post Office  is open, from five hours to two hours, each week.
Local people are strongly urged to use the Post Office or lose it altogether. It is understood that the proposed reduction in hours is going out to consultation but  no official notification of this has been given. As soon as  it is posted, residents should write  to the Post Office during the consultation period, stating their preferred day and time. It has already been requested that the two hours should be on one of the existing days, ie either Tuesday or Thursday, to prevent further upheaval.

Mordiford Fete will take place on Saturday, 6th July, at Sufton Court, opening at 2pm. A meeting will be held in the church at 7.30pm on 13th June following the PCC meeting, to finalize arrangements. Anyone who would like to help or who has helpful ideas will be very welcome.
